To Read or Not to Read

One day, one week, one month or one year. Time still passes by. Thoughts, Emotions, Fears, Pains, Joys, Hopes, all flutter past. One Moment, One Life

    A Page from My Life

    Sunday, April 13, 2008

I've been really busy these couple of days. Reaching home at around midnight and waking up at around five each morning. I can honestly say that I've had maybe about ten hours of sleep, if you add up all the days of the week. I had thirteen hours of sleep last week, so it seems to be getting worse. And school starts again tomorrow, with me being in no shape to move. What's worse is that I can't sleep early tonight because I have so manny essays due tomorrow. That sucks man! So now i'm doing the video editing for the AEC project. The worse part is that I have to hand over the laptop to Fiona tomorrow, meaning that I will have no access to the internet for God knows how long. This really blows!

Crap! I just wasted my whole night away again. This is really bad. Instead of doing my work, I've been watching TV. Oh well, I'm going to sleep now. I'll wake up at 3am tomorrow to do my Lit and History Essays. Hopefully my week will start off well. I really need it to.

Life has become so monotonous. I feel so drained, like my whole being screams for me to be let out of my cage. It's like I'm just waiting for my real life to begin, that I'm just living in the preparation period right now. When will my real life begin? The person that I am now, the life that I'm living now; this is not me. Not the real me~

So Harry made up with me and we're cool now. He called me last night and we had a long heart to heart talk. Things are alright now, I think.

Anyway, went to school today as usual. Some famous percussion band from Australia stopped at our school as part of the Singaporean leg of their world tour. They were really good! Even the stupid Matts and Minas we cheering and clapping for them. I want to get their Cd's.

Had cheer leading meeting after that. Left at 2.05 after waiting for 20 minutes. I hate this kind of inefficiency, especially on a busy day like this one. Rushed up to the drama room for the final casting audition for the SYF cast. I totally screwed up, but I hope I still get the role because I've been working hard for it. After the auditions, went to save the Earth Day practise from the hands of Ajantha Kar, the bangla teacher from India who thinks she knows everything. I really pity the year ones for having to tolerate her for the past few weeks. At least now that Patrick and I have arrived, we can take over and teach something actually useful to these budding actors. Silly woman.

My dad came back from Malaysia today and so he brought the whole family out for dinner at Cavanna Restaurant. It was kinda fun. Went shopping at NTUC for all my expensive toiletries after that. Ha ha, took the opportunity to stock up on all my depleted supplies without digging into my own pocket.

I watched American Idol just now and it was great. Oh, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's Planet Shakers' concert! It will be a welcomed break from the monotony of life.

Well, its time for my "few hours" nap before I start this crazy cycle all over again. Night! Sleep Tight~

I'm stuck in school now. Project work is such a bore...

Anyway, I slept like two hours last night doing my Preliminary Ideas (PI) for Project work. Halfway through, while trying to procrastinate once again, I started taking photos~

    lazy me
This is my lazing around. The pieces of paper on my table are my Project work notes yet if you look closely you'll see my blog on the screen. Haha!

    my messy table

So this is my famous messy table. If you thought my bag was bad, get a load of this! For the record, its just messy, not dirty. I frequently lift up the whole pile onto my bed and give the table a good wipe. Then I plop the mess right back where it came from. And if you're wondering what happens if we have a visitor? Everything goes into plastic bags that go under the table. Haha!

    me trying to act cool

And this is me trying to strike a pose at 2am in the morning. How do you act cool when you're so damm sleepy? Behold! I think I've done alright!

Anyway, its time to get back to the lesson. Sigh, its raining heavily right now and its really contributing to the sleepy state that I am in right now. I need to go for GAP later on today, doing games. But not before Malay, which is the next period. I haven't even done any of the "Secret's" homework (My malay teacher's name means secret in malay).

So its time for me to fade back into the story of my life~

Talk about drama at the beginning of the week!

Today started off like any other monday except for the fact that I was late. I was supposed to meet Nadia and Amirah for breakfast at Mcdonalds at 7.30am. I left the house at 7.25am, rushing like mad to the MRT station. Got on the 7.45am train and settled into my psp game. It was like a normal routine day until the train was approaching Choa Chu Kang MRT station at aroun 8.10am. I was in the first cabin as usual. The train just entered the station when there was a loud BANG and I felt something roll under the train cabin. As the train came to a screeching halt, a sick feeling came over me. The driver's voice came over the announcement "There has been an accident, sorry for any inconvienence caused". I guessed immediately what happened but the faces of those on the platform cleared any doubts I had. The people on the platform had the look of shock plastered onto their faces. I saw a girlfriend burying her head into her boyfriend's chest in fear. The cabin lights went off and there was a period or ten minutes where everyone was in limbo about our futures. Then the MRT personal came and opened each door, one by one, and asked us to evacuate the train. I exited and realised that only four cabins were on the platform so they couldn't open all the doors normally. The platform was so crowded, I could barely move bacause of the sea of people. Some were still dazed, others looked annoyed, some were calling people on their phones and began their frenzy, most probably trying to re-count what had just happened to the person on the other line. I myself felt like I wasn't me anymore. Like because of the the deviation from my normal day I had stepped out of my own life. After a few moments I had enough sense to call amirah, who luckily decided to take the bus from toa payoh instead of the train. Next I called Nadia, which turned out to be my saving moment because she immediately asked her dad to pick me up from the Choa Chu Kang. Realising that Andrea was probably leaving her house soon I called her next, but somehow, she had decided to come to school early today so I spent the next few minutes re-counting the event that had just happened. As I walked to the stairs to get out of the station, I realised that the person who had jumped had gone under three cabins before the train came to a stop. The SCDF people were there soon setting up their extracting equipment but I couldn't wait to see. I went out of the station and waited for Nadia's family.
As we were driving away from the station, the platform look like a mass of moving trees and plants, all rubbing against each other, trying to fight for the sunlight. We passed Bukit Gombak on the way to school. This time there was a multitude of people exiting the station, many Millennians among them, surely late. Luckily the school understood and no one was caught for late coming today.

The whole incident reminded me of the same incident that happedned to me a year ago. It was also a Monday but the station was Woodlands. And it turned out to be an accident, the person falling off the middle of the platform, so the train braked immediately, saving his life. This time the person jumped at the tail of the platform so the driver had no chance to stop. I heard from people who were on the platform that the person who jumped was a young chinese male and that he screamed as the train hit him, shreiking his final shriek. That explains the looks of horror of those on the platform. I imagined what the driver must have seen, the face of a desperate man, giving up the fight to live.

This whole incident has reminded me how fragile we are, that at any moment we can be destroyed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should take chances in life. Live it to the fullest so that at the end of the road we can look back and say "I've truly lived!"

Harry, if you're reading this, take a risk. Come up to me and ask to talk, you never know what I might say. But whatever it is, its surely better than regretting a lost friendship.

Well, I'd better get back to doing my Project Work. Its due tomorrow. So I'd best be going back to it. Night~

Life can sometimes be an empty bowl,
    waiting to be filled up~

I bought a second-hand PSP on saturday from Jeremy for $280 bucks

    My PSP
So there it is. Lol, I just found out that I can infrared photos from my phone to the comp so that's what i've been doing! Anyway, the PSP caome with three extra batteries plus its already cracked to enable pirated games and it comes with a 4GB memory card and preloaded stuff. So its quite worth it! The only problem is that now my allowance is halved for the next few months. Ah well, I think it's worth it. Haha!

This few days have been pretty tough on me, both spiritually and physically and emotionally. I've been attending a course in Theosophy that started yesterday and is every monday, wednesday, friday and saturday for the next two weeks, from 7pm to 10pm at paya lebar. So I reach home on these days close to midnight. But the lectures are interesting and informative, and I managed to drag Joel along. Recently Joel has been introducing himself as "Joel" instead of the usual pronounciation of "Jo-el". Hahaha, trying to pass of as somekind of "ang moh". Hilarious, but that's why I like hanging out with him, can bitch and act ang moh and stuff. Sometimes you just have to have friends that let you act a little crazy once in a while.

I think that my previous post was a little too harsh so I would like to apologise for it. I believe in giving everyone second chances, even though its more like endless second chances with this one. The only thing I ask is that this person talk to me personally, ask for forgiveness, and tell me what the problem is. Friendship is about giving perople chances, giving them the benefit of the doubt because they mean something to you. Its about respect, knowing where you're boundaries lie. And admitting your mistakes so that you can grow together. I believe in the saying that "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" applies to relationships as well. So to this person, the ball is in your court; make the right decision.

I have the Earth day script due tomorrow so i'm gonna catch a few winks before I finish it up. Night!~
